RockRidge’s sanding discs are made with quality aluminum oxide grains. Aluminum oxide is a versatile grain. It has the cutting ability for stock removal or blending with larger grits, while finer grits deliver a softer scratch pattern that is often desired for finishing and polishing applications.
Aluminum oxide can be used on both ferrous and non-ferrous metals, woods, composite materials, plastics, fiberglass, gel coat, and other surfaces.
RockRidge offers a paper-backed or synthetic film-backed sanding discs for use on random orbital or dual-action sanders. Both the paper and film discs are available in 5-inch or 6-inch discs, with either PSA or hook-and-loop attachment options.
Applications for sanding discs include:
- light stock removal
- surface preparation (prior to paint or powder coating)
- blending for consistent finish
- decorative finishes
- fine finishing on sealers or topcoats
